Electrolysis Hair Removal, Permanence

Case-studies_Permanence_header.jpg

Permanence is an electrolysis hair removal technology that not only removes the hair, it also removes the follicle’s ability to ever grow hair again. The Permanence Method is a refinement of galvanic multi-probe electrology – the oldest and safest method of hair removal.

Background

Diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) at the age of 18, Permanence founder Noreen Roesler has dedicated her life to improving galvanic multi-probe electrolysis. She knew this technology could help not just to alleviate - but to cure - one of the side effects of PCOS, excessive hair growth. However, various attempts to bring the product to life had not succeeded.

The challenge

After multiple unsuccessful attempts in developing the product, Permanence engaged Skiant to investigate why the previous attempts were unsuccessful.

Following careful analysis of the past, we were engaged to provide a full service - ideation, development strategy, engineering and design, project management, compliance and manufacturing - ultimately helping the company design, develop and commercialise this life-changing product.

The main challenges were the ideation stage; ensuring that we extracted exactly what the client wanted to achieve and then fine tuning the technology to help - finally - make this happen.

The outcome

With a project of this complexity, having the correct people involved is core to success. Through our extensive network of specialists, we engaged appropriate experts in various fields, managed a multi-disciplinary team and approached the project holistically. This flexible approach is a major bonus of working with a client on the full journey of a product’s development.

Permanence now has two Sydney clinics with multiple beauty technicians trained to use the technology and is the only global manufacturer of this device.
